Whiteknights Studio Trail … for me

June 5, 2018

This weekend; I will do something that is and was on my Bucket List.  I have walked and enjoyed the Whiteknights Studio Trail for many years; it is a vital part of the Reading art family serving the local community each year for nearly 20 years.  To be an artist and exhibiting is an honour and beyond my dreams.  I underwent a submission exercise and there is no doubt that I deserve a place.  I have been preparing new material for several months and pretty much ready to go.

However, I am still waiting to hear from my host (the owner of the garage who must remove his E Type Jaguar before I can go in)

Deep down I hope he fails to do this and I have to cancel. Why do I feel this fear? Am I a fraud?  Who said I was an artist?  Is this normal? These questions are clearly rhetorical; no replies required.  I find this exhibition thing so exposing; clearly obvious but so raw and poignant at the same time.

So, no answers just lots of good wishes and virtual hugs to those who are feeling exposed and vulnerable for the weekend ahead.

Wishing you lots of luck, not that you’ll need it! Your work is a wonderful reflection of your sense of fun, dedication to learn, grow and your creativity.

Take care, enjoy and I hope to see you over the weekend xx
