Just a blip!
February 9, 2015
I took a little detour from my path of printmaking at the weekend (I say ‘don’t worry’ to my lino cutting and wood engraving my friends; ‘It is just a blip I am now back on track!’)
I have a collection of letterpress that was taking up valuable space in my little studio.
Before I turfed it out, I decided to give it one last chance to earn some artistic credibility.
Although it was fun while it lasted … I am not sure it was a successful exercise.

I like those, quite saleable on the right stuff, I would have thought?
Funny you say that! They are have raised a bit of attention …
I like these. There are lots of this type of thing around as art celebrating love, babies, birthdays etc. I think it’s nice that these are hand made from an actual press!
It has proved to be a positive move XX
Lovely surprise for you.
I’ve been doing that too! Someone in my street gave me a bag of letterpress he’d salvaged and I made some random single words on newspaper – really went down well as cards at a craft fair!
It is such a wonderfully strange thing … so simple yet so beautiful xx
